Residential & Consumer Lending Intern

Overview:
We have several opportunities in various areas of our Residential & Consumer Lending Team, including Loan Servicing, Collections, Document Scanning, and Property Insurance & Construction Loan Servicing.

Collections Team:
Responsibilities include:
Administrative duties, including correspondence, bankruptcy case input, procedural updates (as instructed by management)
Record retention, including scanning and filing to Synergy and departmental electronic files
Reports, including weekly status, month end numbers, attorney updates
Mail and Synapsys, including event check-ins and event routing
Document Scanning Team:
Assist RCL Team with on-going paperless and scanning initiative, as well as our Bank-wide paperless project.
Provide additional support to our Document Management Team with the space management of our remaining residential mortgage paper files, as we proceed with our Bankwide scanning initiatives.
Provide daily support to Bank staff, including Loan Officers and Underwriters, upon receipt of documentary
research or scanning requests, questions and inquiries (from Synergy/ Digital Document Storage).
Will provide assistance to our Document Management Team in the areas of document scanning and image retrieval requests made to the department.
Will provide RCL additional support on our Bankwide scanning and paperless initiative. This will include the conversion of paper documentation into digital formats, as well as quality control reviews.
Loan Servicing/Residential & Consumer Lending Team:
Provide support for loan processing function, including processing loan documents
Loan servicing tasks, including simple programming, field validation, and research
Use of excel, word, document-merge, imaging technology, and multiple software applications
Interaction with 3rd party sites
Customer correspondence, both written and oral
Conduct audits by utilizing reports and reviewing loan data in the system
Assist with documentation processes, scripts, and screenshots
Involvement with special projects as needed
Property Insurance & Construction Loan Servicing
Review Insurance Vendor exception reports for incomplete information. Cross reference data against core system record and correct (system maintenance).
Participate in audit of real estate loans with mandatory flood insurance coverage
Assist Coordinator or other department personnel with insurance problems including database and account research, including contacting agents, insurance companies, and loan customers to help resolve same
Participate in and assist with Construction Loan servicing tasks and related customer service.
Participate in on-going or special projects to assist the Team and/or the overall RCL servicing group including data entry, scanning, and research tasks.
Support servicing team by improving response time and resolution of insurance related problems.
Assist with and accelerate completion of special projects. Provide exposure and participation with hazard and flood insurance related servicing matters including claims, force-placement, and escrow along with construction loan servicing.
Qualifications:
An overall GPA of 3.5 is strongly preferred, along with 18 business related credits
Preference will be given to students who are entering their Junior and Senior year of college
Preference will be given to Cape Cod residents or those with housing arrangements already in place on Cape Cod.
Strong analytical and computer skills, as well as the ability to communicate well with both verbally and in writing are essential
Previous employment experience in a bank, accounting or finance environment is preferred
Strong customer service skills and experience preferred
Must have cyber security awareness to protect the digital environment, the Bank, and customers.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
