In addition to building and designing our classic catboats, we offer a range of services including maintenance and repairs, rigging, seasonal mooring rentals, boat storage, engine repair and sales, metal fabrication, and canvas work.

We seek an organized and trustworthy candidate with strong written communication and technology skills to fulfill our role of Purchasing & Parts Manager.
This full time role is responsible for ordering all parts and supplies, and managing inventory, payables, and vendor relationships.
The Purchasing & Parts Manager is a vital member of the administrative team and this position offers opportunities for growth within the company.

Responsibilities:
Ordering:
Order supplies and stock items as needed Track all placed orders and provide delivery status updates Receive purchase orders and work with vendors to procure necessary parts and supplies in the most cost effective and timely manner Identify new vendors and negotiate pricing with new and existing vendors Receiving:
Physically receive shipments and distribute to shops and stock rooms as necessary Check shipments for quantity and quality, and coordinate with vendors to correct any discrepancies Receive purchase orders using PierVantage software, and manage the digital inventory system.
Accurately receive special orders to customer accounts Manage returns to vendors as necessary.
Track and process return credits Set accurate pricing that ensures proper profitability for the company Increase materials sales profitability and report metrics to management Payables:
Track and process all payables in a digital system Communicate payables deadlines to the Treasurer on a weekly basis Keep payables files up to date and accurate Budgeting:
Work within an established purchase budget Monitor charges on company credit card and manage payments on a weekly basis Sales/Customer Service:
Assist customers in purchasing parts, merchandise, engines, trailers, etc.
Provide the exceptional customer service Arey's Pond is known for Receive and track customer deposits for high cost special orders ? All other job responsibilities as required Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent experience 1-3 years experience in an office or business setting, preferably in a purchasing orprocurement role or in the marine industry Experience responsibly handling company finances Very strong computer literacy skills:
G-Suite, Microsoft Excel, PierVantage.
Ability to learn and master new technology is a must.
Very strong writing and communications skills.
Writing sample may be requested.
Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record A passion for sailing and/or boating is a plus Starting at $23-26/hour for candidates with some relevant experience who would require training.
Candidates with extensive experience in a parts/purchasing role in the marine industry can expect a higher hourly rate.
This is a full-time, hourly, position with full benefits and paid time off, available after a probationary period.
