Supervision Performs job responsibilities under the general supervision of the Assistant Library Director and Library Director.
Detailed and specific instructions govern work assignments.
The employee must consult with the supervisor on all matters not contained in instructions.
The supervisor evaluates work while in progress and upon completion.
Job Environment Work is conducted in a typical office or indoor setting involving everyday discomforts typical of indoor environments with infrequent exposure to outside elements.
The work environment is quiet to moderately noisy.
Some evening and weekend work will be required as part of the employee's regular workweek.
Works a flexible part-time schedule that includes day, night, and weekend hours.
Works independently sometimes outside the library building Operates office equipment including telephone, fax, computers, scanners, and copiers.
Errors could result in public misinformation and adverse public relations.

) Works together with the library administration and other staff to create and implement a regular schedule of adult and family programs and special events that respond to customer and community demand.
Assists with both Virtual and Live events.
Assists with research for potential program presenters and performers.
Assists with setting up and taking down of program space and ensure that the presenter arrives and leaves on time.
Employs various strategies and methods to market programs to a broad audience including social media.
Assists in the creation of marketing materials and prepares in-house publicity.
Assists in maintaining the program and room-booking calendar.
Assists in the engagement of community partners, customers, and staff in the promotion of library programs.
Maintains currency of knowledge of library circulation procedures.
Assists at the circulation and reference desk as needed.
Performs any other similar or related duties as directed by the Assistant Library Director and Library Director.
Recommended Minimum Qualifications High school graduation required; two or more years of college graduate preferred with experience doing programming and publicity for libraries or other non-profit organizations.
Knowledge.
Working knowledge of library operations and library policies and procedures, interpreting them to patrons in a clear and courteous manner.
Has a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Windows, Publisher, and Canva.
Possesses knowledge or be willing to learn databases, the Internet, social media, video-making, Google Drive, and Zoom.
Abilities.
Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing with specific attention to detail.
Ability to establish and maintain harmonious interpersonal relationships for long periods of time with patrons and staff of diverse backgrounds and age levels.
Ability to learn to use state-of-the-art audio/visual/lighting equipment.
Ability to learn or adapt to new and changing technologies.
Skills.
Skill in operating a variety of office equipment, including computers, and strong attention to detail.
Effective customer service skills.
Proficient written and oral communication skills.
Basic computer literacy is required.
Stronginterpersonal skills including a strong desire to serve the public with enthusiasm and flexibility while embracing opportunities to learn in a changing environment.
Intermediate to advanced computer literacy with a preference for candidates with experience using an automated library system Physical Requirements Minimal physical effort generally required in performing duties under typical office conditions.
Position requires the ability to operate a keyboard and standard office equipment.
The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hand and arms.
The employee is frequently required to sit and talk and hear and may be expected to lift, carry, or move heavy objects up to 25 lbs.
